Warm Friendly Pub! Good ales and Food Too
The original nearby Victorian building was knocked down in 1924, and the half timber framed replacement version of The Old Silk Mill opened in 1928. They sell 1 regularly changing guest ale, 2 regular very local Dancing Duck ales, Bass, but I headed straight for their regular Oakham Citra, because, well, because it is one of my favourite ales, and it was very good too! A warm and very friendly atmosphere, with staff and other customers affable alike. I didn’t eat here, but the food I saw being served to other tables looked delicious, I was tempted, but had alternative arrangements… maybe next time!
